What is the course information for The Renaissance Club? Sandwiched between two of the world’s greatest links courses, Muirfield and North Berwick, the Tom Doak design uses the natural features of the land. However, The Renaissance is not a traditional links as the ground is quite undulating with a lot of heavy rough just off the fairways as well as steep, rolling greens. Factor in its length and the possibility of winds, and this will be an extremely stern test for the players, albeit not ideal preparation for The Open next week.

What is the predicted weather for the 2019 Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open? Clear conditions expected throughout the four days with high humidity that could make yardage control difficult, especially if the course dries out. Winds are moderately low for the first two days with it picking up significantly on Saturday afternoon, meaning a morning starter could come through the field. Winds will be at their highest on Sunday which should make for an exciting final round with temperatures around 14c for the week.

THE HISTORY

Established in 1972, The Scottish Open has become one of the premier events in recent years on the European Tour with it becoming one of the eight tournaments within the Rolex Series, thus increasing the prize fund on offer and attracting more of the world’s biggest names.

The last eight editions having been played on traditional links golf courses with The Renaissance Club being the sixth different host during that time whereby scoring has been typically low with an average winning total of 16 under par. 2018 winner Brandon Stone tied the tournament's lowest winning total having come agonisingly close to shooting a 59 during the final round.
