Major Performance Assessment: TPI Screening & Swing Analysis (New clients)
This assessment provides a comprehensive analysis of your physical capabilities and swing biomechanics, using force plates, 3D analysis and club data to create a personalised golf performance plan. If you have one or more of the following performance goals, this assessment is designed for you:
-
Movement quality enhancement: you are looking to optimise your swing biomechanics for a more efficient movement in line with your physical limitations and natural body shape.
-
Increase clubhead and ball speed: distance is limiting your scoring potential, and no matter how hard you try, hitting the ball further seems impossible or just leads to mishits and inaccuracy.
-
Injury/pain recovery: you have experienced an injury, had surgery, or have long-term pain that limits your golf swing, and you need to know the safest approach and training exercises to reduce re-injury/pain.
-
Prevention strategies: you are struggling with aches and pain post-golf and want to understand how your swing technique is having a negative impact.
The assessment process includes:
-
Consultation: identifying your goals, injury history, training experience, and concerns.
-
TPI Screening: aimed at identifying your physical limitations in joint mobility and stability, as well as key power tests that link to your swing.
-
Biomechanical Swing Analysis: used to assess your ground reaction forces and overall natural swing technique in line with your body's physical limitations.
-
Coaching Intervention: 4-week access to my Golf Performance App with an individualised golf fitness plan and swing drills will be provided to start you on your journey to reaching your longer-term goals along with on-going coaching support during the 4-weeks.
-
For 8-weeks App access and on-going coaching and programme support, £125
-
For 12-week App access and on-going coaching and programme support, £140
-
Suitable for golfers of all levels, from touring professionals to club seniors and juniors, the assessment identifies strengths and weaknesses to optimise your game.
Swing Biomechanics Coaching
This session utilises force plate technology to analyse your ground reaction forces during the golf swing. By understanding how your body interacts with the ground, we can identify areas for improvement in physical capacity, swing mechanics, and overall performance.
Based on the data collected, you will receive personalised swing drills and feedback to optimise your technique and achieve your specific golf goals.
At the conclusion of each session, you will receive a detailed report outlining your ground reaction forces measured at the start and end of the session. This report will clearly explain how your movement patterns have evolved and the reasons behind these changes.
This data-driven feedback will empower you to track your progress and understand the effectiveness of the implemented drills.
Golf Fitness Coaching
This session is designed for golfers who have completed the initial major performance assessment and are progressing through their personalised training plan. The focus of this session is to:
-
Monitor progress: We will re-evaluate your flexibility, strength, power, stability, and speed, as well as your overall movement quality, to measure your improvement since your previous session.
-
Advance your training program: Through expert, in-person coaching, we will refine your exercise techniques and develop your strength and conditioning regimen further.
-
Health & Well-being: Furthermore, we will monitor your overall lifestyle, discussing nutrition, recovery, and stress management factors while setting new habits in line with your longer-term goals.
Swing Biomechanics & Golf Fitness Coaching
This session is designed for golfers who have completed the initial major performance assessment and are progressing through both their personalised training plan and developing their swing biomechanics.
The aim of this session is to spend time both in the coaching bay on the force plates developing their swing mechanics as well as in the Strength & Conditioning unit improving their physical limitations and training exercises that relate to their swing mechanics.
Junior Coaching (Fitness or Swing)
Specialising too early in golf can limit a young athlete's overall physical and mental development. Golf's repetitive nature can lead to movement imbalances and potential injury risks. To ensure long-term success and well-being, it's crucial to adopt a holistic approach that prioritizes balanced development.
Strength and conditioning play a vital role in the holistic development of young athletes, influencing physical, cognitive, and emotional growth. Recognising the unique developmental pace of each junior athlete, this session focuses on assessing and understanding individual needs.
Through observation and coaching, we will identify areas for improvement and establish effective movement and learning habits to build a strong foundation for long-term athletic success.

The two lessons I’ve recently had with Sam have literally been the best ever! He transformed my swing, in an easy to understand and, more importantly, easy to implement way. The difference to my game has been amazing.
My main problem was lack of rotation in the swing. Through his expertise of swing biomechanics and a series personalised stretching exercises, I can rotate so much better. He also sorted my posture , which was too closed.
As a result, my strike consistency, accuracy and distance have dramatically improved. I used to hit a 7 iron 140 yards, now it’s 160 yards. My drives were 180 yards, now they’ve 210 yards.
And, apart from everything else, he’s a lovely man!

The new app has allowed me to combine all my training details in one place. I can now schedule my training and receive reminders to ensure I stay on track whilst also collating data from my garmin watch. Along with this there are multiple programmes with easy to follow videos suitable for people who are new to training and those that are more experience. Sam’s knowledge and expertise in S&C have enabled me to get back to playing golf an a reasonable standard after a serious break to my wrist. If it wasn’t for Sam I do not think I would be playing golf today. I am looking forward to the off season and fully committing to the training programmes over the winter as I know by trusting Sam’s approach it will bring serious improvements to my golf game.

I have been working with Sam for over a year now and when I first made contact I was in a dark place with the game of golf with no idea where the next step would be. Working with Sam gave me a focus, process and more importantly the desire again through his methods to become the best me I can be. I can’t thank Sam for him countless hours of listening, coaching and building a clearer vision for the future. I would recommend to anyone of any standard from beginners to tour professionals. Amazing work, the best.

I have been working with Sam since December 2019 and I am getting huge benefits, not only for golf but also with general health and fitness. Sam, through his training and experience, as well as being a low handicap golfer, understands what it takes to achieve an efficient golf swing.
My own program is based around my own strengths and weaknesses and through his gentle pushing, he has made me achieve levels beyond my expectations.
My golf is steadily improving and I also feel fitter and healthier. I still have a long way to go, but I am confident that with Sam’s guidance I will achieve my goals.

If you are serious about strength and conditioning and looking at ways of improving your golf performance then Sam Vickers is definitely worth a visit. It’s not a quick fix and it takes commitment. What I enjoyed most about working with Sam is that any commitment is always reciprocated. However, there are no short cuts, Sam is very specific about understanding what you need to do and puts together a plan that helps you get there. He does not take you further until he is comfortable your body can cope with the next phase, he is very thorough. He also understands golf, he’s not trying to replace a golf coach and endeavours to work with golf coaches. As a very good golfer himself, he understands and is able to relate and this helps when working with you and your coach as he did with me and Neil Harvey. After each session he sends a training schedule and posts videos of you doing the exercises with his words of wisdom. Sam is insightful and knowledgeable, and I enjoyed our discussions on fitness and psychology. Working with Sam is much more than fitness, he is about performance and helping you reach your goals. Excellent.

Sam offers a professional and comprehensive service. The work he engages with my son not only compliments his over coaching activities but in some respects takes the lead in his golfing career. He has worked with Sam for the last three years and the progress we have seen in various aspects has been exceptional. We as a family would highly recommend Sam to anyone who wants to progress in the golfing world or in general keep mobile and injury free.
